Cultural exchange project
DesignRoom Finland has started a new two year project called Helsinki FRESH! to enhance visibility of the Finnish designers in central Europe. It includes the top and emerging Finnish designers, partners and sponsors from the design field and is connected time wise to the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

A short animation of an elf who’s in a hurry to decorate the house for the Christmas.
The animation will be presented in the Estonian television (ERR) in December 2010.

Experimental light piece at the Night of the Arts on a field at the countryside of Finland. Word ‘YÖ’ (Night) was lit towards the center of action at the Aslak and the Eskimos Club, so that people could see the word on the distant field while listening live music and enjoying other performances.

Route: Helsinki-Moscow-Ulan Bator-Beijing-Shanghai-Helsinki.
The trip included amazing 82 Aalto university students and staff members, private train from Moscow to the Chinese border, long and adventurous bus trip to Beijing, World Expo and company cases and a visit to Tero Saarinen Company’s (feat. Marita Liulia) dance performance in Shanghai.

Description
This book contains photographs from the Open Up workshop held at Medialab-Prado in Madrid, Spain on the 9th to 23rd of February 2010 and its participants (odd pages). Open Up was an advanced project development workshop for the digital facade of Medialab-Prado where the working groups developed 7 selected projects in a collaborative way. There is also a flipbook of the final presentation from the workshop (even pages) which can be explored by starting from the back cover and turning the pages rapidly.
